Northwest Ireland 2026
Golf Northwest Ireland 2026 and where to play? The following itinerary is a sample idea for four gents, four ladies or two couples that would like to tour and play golf in the Northwest of Ireland. The courses selected are challenging Irish links courses based along the rugged West of Ireland. Each course is unique and each course is so different from the next. The courses listed on this itinerary are all championship courses to play. Such as from Ballyliffin Golf Club to Sligo Golf Club.
However, each course has its own story, each course will challenge you, and the links courses in the Northwest are all worth playing. What I find very interesting are the golfer’s experiences comparing between the Northwest and the other Irish & Scottish links courses played. Chiefly, the course challenges and the Irish cultural adventures. But, most if not all, golfers do find the Northwest of Ireland a brilliant golfing experience.
Finally, listening to the golfer’s stories over the years are truly fantastic. The chat is typically about how each course was played, their most memorable shots played, the weather and the ‘craic’ in the pub. The caddie experiences are great, what the caddie did or did not do! Also, the kind of character the caddy, the caddy jokes or not, and previous golfer stories. I highly recommend booking caddy services as it adds so much more culture to your Irish Golf Trip.
Ireland Flight options:
Most of the golfers that we deal with tend to use Dublin Airport for inbound and outbound flights. That is mainly due to more flight options to Ireland in and out of Dublin Airport. Also, Dublin City is a good fun town to start or finish off an Irish Golf Vacation. As mentioned the upside is that there are great golfing experiences to discover on tremendous golf links courses to play in the West and Northwest of Ireland. The downside is that the roadways are not perfect, narrow and longer travel periods than expected. However, the extra travel time offers golfers more time to view the charming Irish rugged countryside.
